The 6″ X 12″ Adhesive Pad-29-0003 (recommended for 29-0001 machine) is a self sticking pad that keeps the material being cut flat so that there is no tearing on the paper or vinyl. Since the pad retains its stickiness for a limited amount of cuts we recommend buying extra pads. The pads are also great for storing the paper or vinyl that has already been cut.

I might be mistaken, but it seems this mat doesn’t work with the Cricut Expression, the larger cutting machine. The mat is designed be loaded with the short edge leading, but on the Expression this means only one of the rubber wheels gets good traction – so unfortunately it shifts during cutting. (The rubber wheels with the strong traction are at the ends of the rod; the ones in the middle don’t have much girp.} The machine’s control panel offers choices for 12×12 and 12×24 mats, but it would be nicer to be able to use smaller mats, as well.
The length of this mat is a bit too large to be fed in via the long edge – I’m guessing it would have been more useful to make this mat a little shorter along the long edge to give it more versatility. My other suggestion is that the adhesive could be improved; I’ve had a hard time getting designs in construction paper off neatly.
This mat is also included with the Cricut Essentials Kit, which I purchased for use with the Expression machine. (If anyone knows how to make it work, I’d appreciate it if you could leave me a comment. Thank you!)

This mat does not work with the Cricut Expressions. It will shift while cutting and gets caught inside the cutter. Not easy to get out either. Sent it back. Yes it would be nice to be able to use smaller mats for smaller projects.

If you use your Cricut a lot, you’re going to need a few of these. I found that Amazon has the best prices and that helps.

Even after the stickiness is long gone, these are great for craft projects, especially using Xacto knifes & glues, etc. They also keep beads from rolling around. They last longer if you wipe them down with a wet wipe after each use to remove the dust & paper bits. I love these mats!

replacement mats are an eventual neccessity…these were priced well and do the job, cardstock holds better the newer the mats are..alack of the cardstock can help the mat go a longer way and save you a little $$
